Zuhair Omer Suleiman Idris
Secretary-General & Legal Advisor | Sudan Office Director – Africa Relief & Development Initiative Zuhair Omer Suleiman Idris is a seasoned legal and organizational expert with more than two decades of experience in law, governance, and humanitarian affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with honors, a Higher Diploma in Disaster and Refugee Management, and advanced diplomas in Quality & Safety (UK) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (Beirut). Throughout his career, Zuhair has served as a Legal Advisor to numerous organizations and companies, including the International Islamic Charitable Organization (Sudan Office), ZAM Ltd., Al-Salmaniya Ltd., Awa Pharma, and Al-Oula Agricultural Co. He has also provided legal counsel to schools, NGOs, and international charitable bodies such as the Sharjah Charity Association (UAE). In addition to his legal expertise, Zuhair has significant experience in public relations, project proposal development, fundraising, and organizational management. He has represented Sudan in international forums, including conferences organized by the League of Arab States and global events on humanitarian action, child welfare, and volunteerism.As Secretary-General and Legal Advisor of the Africa Relief & Development Initiative, and Director of its Sudan Office, Zuhair combines legal acumen, leadership skills, and humanitarian commitment to ensure governance, compliance, and effective organizational operations. Director of Women, Children, and Social Affairs – Africa Relief & Development Initiative | Specialist in Special Education & Psychological Counseling Hiba Nour Eldaim is a highly qualified professional in special education, psychology, and counseling, with extensive experience supporting children with diverse educational and psychological needs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Counseling from Ahfad University for Women (Sudan), a Master’s and PhD in Special Education from the International Center for Disability Sciences (ICDS), and advanced certification from the American Montessori Academy and the American Board of Special Education.Over the course of her career, Hiba has worked with leading institutions across Sudan and Saudi Arabia, including Balsam Center for Mental Health, Khartoum Teaching Hospital – Neurology & Psychiatry Department, and several international schools. She has served since 2017 as a Psychologist and Counselor at Al-Safwa International Schools, and currently as a Special Education Specialist at Anwar Al-Majd Schools in Saudi Arabia.Her expertise spans behavior modification, skill development, speech therapy, Montessori applications for children with special needs, and multi-category disability education. Dr. Sara Lavinia Brair is the Director of the Health Office in Africa Relief and Reconstruction Initiative (ARRI).
Sara Lavinia Brair, Senior Country Representative, TCC-Sudan. Dr. Sara Lavinia Brair has an extensive background in health care management, policy, and public health. She served as the Director General of the White Nile State and Acting Minister of Health for 2 years during the transitional government in Sudan and sat on many political reform committees. Before joining the Carter Center, she worked as the Health System Strengthening Advisor at USAID and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. In the academia, she served as the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research at Al Neelain University, and during this period she advocated for e-learning and established the first online Diploma in the country in collaboration with Maryland University. She served on many committees at the Federal Ministry of Health related to epidemic mitigation and promotion of immunization and ethics. She participated in the establishment of the Sudanese Network for Research Ethics and participated in the addition of research ethics curricula to medical schools in Sudan. She cofounded two organizations that help the needy and empower women educationally and economically.
She was awarded the Sian Griffiths Global Public Health Award from the Royal College of Physicians in 2022 for her unique contribution in promoting Global Public Health. She was also awarded the Best Female Doctor Award in 2018, Al Neelain University Student Union.
Dr. Sara Lavinia earned a medical degree from Juba University Medical College, Sudan; Medical Doctorate in Community Medicine from Sudan Medical Specialization Board; Specialization in Community Medicine from the Arab Board, Jordan; and a Specialization in Dermatology from Sudan Medical Specialization Board, Sudan. She has a Diploma in Research Ethics from Maryland University, USA; and a Diploma in Clinical Education from Edinburgh University, UK. She is a fellow at the Royal College of Physicians and the Higher Academy of Education, UK. She has a Fellowship in Health Equity from George Washington University, USA; and a Fellowship in Leadership from CDC Africa, African Union.

Huda Abbas Mohamed Fadl is a highly accomplished educator and development specialist with more than 20 years of experience in school leadership, teaching, curriculum development, and community health programs. She holds a Master’s degree in International and Multicultural Education and Development and a B.Sc. (Honors) in Food Science and Technology from Ahfad University for Women.Throughout her career, Huda has served as Principal of Aljawda International School in Cairo, where she successfully led policy implementation, teacher development, and student-centered learning strategies. She has also held positions as High School Head and IGCSE Coordinator, as well as a teacher of biology, chemistry, and environmental studies across several international schools. Her leadership has been recognized for improving academic outcomes, promoting inclusive education, and building strong collaborations with staff, parents, and students.In addition to her work in education, Huda has contributed significantly to public health and nutrition initiatives, including her service as a Dietitian at Police Central Hospital and as a Nutrition Officer supporting children of female prisoners in Omdurman. She has also worked with Johnson & Johnson South Africa on maternal and child health awareness campaigns.Fluent in both Arabic and English, Huda brings a multicultural perspective and a commitment to advancing education in diverse communities. Amel Farouk Abu Eissa

Amel Farouk Abu-Eissa is a distinguished professional and public advocate known for her deep commitment to women’s empowerment, humanitarian engagement, and human rights in Sudan and across the region. She brings a unique blend of diplomatic insight, social awareness, and creative vision to her leadership of the Public Relations Office at the Africa Relief & Reconstruction Initiative (ARRI). Amel studied Economics, Political Science, and Sociology at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and holds a Double Major in Interior Design from the American College in London. Her academic foundation combines social sciences and creative design thinking skills that have shaped her multidimensional career. Earlier in her professional journey, Amel worked with UNICEF in Cairo, where she contributed to community development and advocacy programs. She has also established herself as a freelance interior designer, delivering elegant and human-centered design solutions in Egypt. A lifelong advocate for Sudanese causes, Amel continues the legacy of her father, the late Mr. Farouk Abu-Eissa, Sudan’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs and a prominent political leader who dedicated his life to justice, democracy, and human rights. From her close involvement in his work, Amel inherited not only experience and values but also a deep understanding of Sudan’s social and political fabric. Today, Amel stands as a powerful voice for women, youth, and the marginalized, using her platform at ARRI to strengthen the organization’s visibility, build international partnerships, and promote Sudan’s path toward recovery, peace, and inclusive development.
